Delhi: Dharna to demand punishment of guilty of 1984, Nov 1

Join the dharna to demand Punishment of guilty of 1984, November 1, 2013, 11 am, Jantar Mantar

Dear friends,

November 1, 2013 marks the 29th anniversary of the genocide of Sikhs organized by the Congress Party in Delhi and other places in our country.

For 29 long years, women and men of conscience have fought tirelessly, to ensure that those guilty of organising this terrible crime against humanity are punished. However, even after all these years, no party in power at the center has bothered to ensure that the guilty are punished. Instead, in these 29 years, many more communal massacres have taken place, such as in 1992-93, 2002, the Assam massacres, the Kadhamal massacres, the recent communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and so on. LRs firmly believes that it is precisely because the guilty of 1984 were never punished, that the subsequent massacres have been carried out with impunity.

Every year, Lok Raj Sangathan has marked the anniversary of the genocide of 1984 through dharnas, and other forms of action to bring out that this was an attack on the entire Indian people, on humanity, and we, the people of India, will never keep quite, until the guilty are punished, and mechanisms are put in place to ensure that such genocides can never ever be repeated.

On November 1, 2013, Lok Raj Sangathan will be holding a dharna at Jantar Mantar to mark this event. The dharna will begin at 11 am. We call upon all organizations and individuals, who have been fighting for justice for the FORGOTTEN CITIZENS of 1984, to join this dharna.

With sincere regards,

Prakash Rao
Secretary, Lok Raj Sangathan
