Tara Books, Culture, and Politics: A Conversation with V. Geetha

Sanhati recently conducted an interview of V. Geetha, eminent feminist historian, writer, and translator. She writes in English and Tamil on issues related to caste, feminism and Tamil society and history. She has been active in the women’s movement in India and political struggles in Tamil Nadu for many years. She has authored and edited many books including Theorizing Feminism, Undoing Impunity: Speech after Sexual Violence, Towards a Non-Brahmin Millennium. She is involved in Tamil theater as a scriptwriter, and is the editorial director of Tara Books, an independent publishing house aimed at children and adults.
